Wedding Details

A destination wedding is a big deal — but we’re here to make the process as straightforward and stress-free as possible.

On this page, we’ll walk you through the finer details of our wedding, what you’ll be responsible for, how much it will cost, and all the bells and whistles you’ll need to make a decision.

Remember: no pressure!

About Puglia

Picture it: Puglia, 2025. This region of Italy, located on the heel of the boot, is known for endless olive trees and crystal-clear waters. Get lost in the fairy-tale trulli houses of Alberobello, soak up the cool vibes of Lecce's Baroque scene, and dive into mouthwatering local eats. Puglia is like a laid-back masterpiece of history, culture, and stunning scenery.

Our venue, outside the city of Monopoli, is central to a variety of villages, towns, beaches, and vineyards that offer different styles of architecture, food, and activities.

Flying to Italy

Unfortunately, there are no direct flights into Puglia from the US and this may mean up to two stops in Europe. However, there are a variety of options to connect, including Rome, Munich, and Frankfurt.

Our venue is located outside the village of Fasano and is equidistant from the Bari (BRI) and Brindisi (BDS) airports, giving guests a few options to fly in from their connecting flight.

Flights will be available to book around November and we recommend searching for flights through Google Flights.

As our wedding is on a Sunday, we strongly recommend leaving the US by Friday, May 23 and giving yourself time to rest on Saturday night before the festivities.

Venue, Villas, & Stays

You can check out our venue, Tenuta Monacelle, here. A block of rooms will be available for guests to stay Saturday and Sunday at a rate of €150 a night. Please indicate in your RSVP if you’d like to stay with us at the venue the weekend of the wedding.

There are a variety of lovely hotels and rentals available in the area if you’d like to explore other options over the wedding weekend. We recommend checking out Airbnb or similar sites for easy and affordable stays.

After the wedding, the grooms are looking to keep the party going by renting some villas in the area, depending on overall guest interest. If you’re interested on letting it ride, please indicate this on the RSVP.

Transportation

Puglia, Italy is fairly rural — it produces 40% of Italy’s olive oil with over 60 million olive trees. Puglia’s beautiful small towns are spread out with groves of olive trees in between. Therefore, if you want to raid neighboring towns for the best hole-in-the-wall pizzerias and patisseries, you’ll want to rent a car.

Prices to rent cars will be reasonable at this time of year and there will be plenty of automatic vehicles available. It obviously makes sense to group together when you’re renting cars, so if you don’t have a buddy reach out to us!

To rent a car, US drivers will need an International Driver’s Permit, a credit card, and insurance (check the insurance coverage provided by your credit card, most major credit cards include international car rental insurance).

Additionally, the venue/resort is able to arrange airport transfers and taxis upon request.

Fasano is the nearest town to the venue with a 15 minute drive (see map). Unfortunately, walking between locations in Puglia is not feasible.

Dress “code”

If you’re anything like Xavier, you’ll already have asked yourself a few times what one wears to the Italian Spring wedding of Xavier’s dreams. Don’t fret, dress will be cocktail. What we’re after is making sure that everyone feels comfortable and confident in what they’re wearing.

If you’re interested in the color palette or overall ‘aesthetic’ of the wedding to guide you (or give you an excuse to buy something new!), you can reference our palette here. These colors were inspired by the town of Ostuni where we got engaged. The grooms will evoke a 50’s style on the day.

Remember we want you to be comfortable, temperatures will be in the 70’s during the day (but hot in the sun) and 60’s at night (you may want a sweater).
